Who needs toys when you’ve got – packing material! River has spent hours playing with bubble wrap over the past week or so. When a friend came over, they played with it together. He loves cutting open the big bubble squares and popping the smaller ones, as well as laying out a sheath of packing material and walking across it like a carpet. Another day, when my Kindle arrived in the mail, he spent a good 30 minutes playing with the thin rectangular sheet of plastic that protected the front of the Kindle.
Makes me think that sometimes the best toys are the cheapest ones.

That is so true. Cardboard boxes are a favorite around here. See also: empty toilet paper/paper towel rolls, old magazines, brightly colored straws.
